The Department of Electrical Engineering which was established in 1930 enjoys the privilege of being one of the oldest departments in CEG. The Department which is headed by Professors and Lecturers who are experts in their own disciplines, aims at generating quality Engineers. Some of the milestones of the departments are

• Produced the first PhD graduate in the country in 1950
• Awarded Grade A and 5 Star status by the National Board of Accreditation
• Houses India’s first high voltage department in an engineering college inaugurated in 1960
• Built the Power System for the University’s micro-satellite, ANUSAT, sponsored by ISRO
